Time out Collection |
|
2026 |
Brussels-based artist-designers Aline Melaet, Amandine Brun Sauvant, and Raphaëlle Bosmans present Time out, a selection of unseen works created for COLLECTIBLE Brussels 2026, in the new Tablescapes section. The project reflects the artists’ focus on contemporary collectible timeless design: a belief that the objects that surround us shape our inner lives. Time out brings together unique ceramic, textile, and wooden pieces arranged as a landscape of pause after intensity, exploring rest, reflection, and reset. Each object preserves traces of making and material transformation while remaining open to use. Function is deliberately held in tension, allowing the objects to shift between art and everyday presence. Visitors are invited to slow down, look closely, and engage with the works through attention and sensory experience. By creating hand-shaped objects that encourage contemplation, the artists open a space where the ordinary becomes attentive and everyday gestures unfold into moments of “time out.”

Raku Collection |
|
2025 |
The Knuckles collection continues but a new playground begins: Raku. Where the flame writes its own story, and imperfection becomes truth. Through a series of Raku-fired sculptures and vases, the artist explores the dialogue between body and material, between physical effort and quiet contemplation. Each piece — shaped, fired, and marked by the unpredictable nature of flame — carries the traces of gesture and chance. Cracks, burns, and surface variations reveal a process that embraces both mastery and imperfection. This setting, infused with a Japanese-inspired atmosphere, resonates with the Raku technique and its core values of respect, perseverance, and balance. By transforming the room into a contemplative space, this Raku serie invites visitors to reflect on resilience, the beauty of imperfection, and the power of both clay — and the human spirit — to reinvent themselves through fire and time.

Knuckles Collection |
|
2025 |
A serie exploring strength, fragility, and transformation through contemporary ceramics.
Knuckles is a new collection that delves into the balance between force and vulnerability, inspired by the world of boxing. The collection takes its name from its handles — twin bones shaped by hand, one born of the right, the other of the left. A form remains from a gesture — the closing of fists, as in boxing. The subject disappears, leaving only the trace of movement, the silent joy of the fighter’s touch. Knuckles becomes a reflection on self-confidence, femininity, and the strength found in continuous growth.
The collection unfolds an unexpected venue where discipline, ritual, and energy meet.

Vénus Collection |
|
2024 |
Echoing the first goddesses, the Venuses of the Neolithic are reborn here in a contemporary form.Once carved in stone, bone, or clay, these primitive figures embodied fertility, strength, and the memory of origins. Today, they transform. Less figurative, more abstract, these vases draw inspiration from the curves of the feminine body — soft lines that breathe, spaces that evoke life. Each piece becomes a landscape of matter: raw earth as a canvas for a unique glaze, revealing natural tones and the unpredictable beauty of fire. Ash-based glazes unveil organic textures, while subtle orange traces burn across the surface — a scar, a mark of passage, a memory of transformation. Both primal and intimate, the Venus collection celebrates femininity in its multiplicity — a gathering of collective stories. Each vase stands as a contemporary mythology, where hand, earth, and flame converge to shape new symbols of creation.

Artist, ceramist
Lives and works in Brussels, BE
Artist represented by BeCraft, I am a Belgian artist, curator, and typographic designer based in Brussels. A graduate of ENSAV La Cambre, my practice bridges fine arts and applied arts, informed by a Bauhaus-inspired artistic education and technical training in ceramics.
My work, primarily wheel-thrown, is marked by serenity, simplicity, and spontaneity. Its references span prehistory, antiquity, and the Middle Ages, while 20th- and 21st-century abstract art informs the formal qualities of my pieces. Through studying art history and craft, I explore connections across time, cultures, and techniques, integrating this lineage into contemporary practice.
I have also served as curator of the artist-run space Rectangle (2018–2021) and collaborated with institutions and artists such as Bozar, carriage trade (New York), ENSAV La Cambre, Kanal Pompidou, Waldburger Wouters, and John Armleder. These experiences reflect my interest in cross-disciplinary dialogue and the fluid boundaries between art, design, and craft.
Situated between sculpture and painting, my work emphasizes the interplay of technical skill, imagination, and universal discourse. By focusing on form, color, and composition, I create poetic and sensitive objects. Themes of femininity, citation, and abstraction are central, and each Venus embodies personal and collective mythologies, inviting viewers to reflect on contemporary social and cultural narratives.
